WOYWW 189

Greetings oh fellow WOYWW'ers. Not sure what that is? Every week Ms. Julia Dunnit, she of the Stamping Ground blog invites folks to post a picture of their workspace and then we all go snoop around looking and commenting on them.

Here's what my space looked like this morning

One of my art journals is the lower left hand corner. Started out as scribbles and colors and is waiting to be turned into a palm tree on the beach...thank you Dina Wakley for this fabulous technique. Most of the other stuff has been there since the weekend; I got the flu and am hopeful today is the day I actually have some energy ... The container has some paper beads I made from playing with Tim's marble stains technique on about 50 tags one day....now that was fun!

Lately I have been concentrating on a having a CLEAN space somewhere on my desk. That's what there is a tear of the brown paper painters use (picked up at Lowe's - discount hardware store), then my craft sheet, and then a piece of construction paper. When I was making my canvas last weekend, the mat lived off to the side and I did all the misting on the brown paper. It came front and center when I was finally ready to glue everything together. I seem to turn stuff over and it gets dirty, or I get some type of adhesive on it or something. Happy to report the three levels of working space actually kept it clean this time.

Have a great week!

  1. I like the look of the colours on your journal page. Hope you show us it finished!!
It's so hard to keep a clean area when you are messy crafting isn't it.
You asked about the cling technique. There are several ways. You can either spray your card with water and then splodge on the paints and apply the cling film on top before scrunching it up and leaving it to dry......or you can put the paints on to the cling, spray that with water and then put onto the dry card and scrunch. It's worth having a play to see which works best for you. I tend to do both as they give slightly different results. Hope that helps.

  7. I love those little paper beads, they are so much fun to make and I always have a pile of recycle paper to the side of my desk that I do my glueing on so that it doesn't get all over my mat, I quite like the 3 layer idea you have though!! Annette #3

  12. Thanks for dropping by my blog Sara and leaving your kind words .......... It's a pity we can't pm each other on these blogs!! My post upset my youngest daughter (born later in life) a bit as she has heard various stories about what happened and we have talked but to see things in print is always different.
    Thanks again

  15. I’m finally getting some time to drop in on a few more blogs this morning and wanted to say Thanks for stopping by mine this week.

You certainly seem to have cracked the ‘tidy desk’ way of working, Sara. My space always seems to get smaller and smaller until I’m forced to put stuff away to actually be able to work….guess there’s lots of us like that, Lol. Loving your bright journal page.

    Happy Crafting!
