Glad for Wednesday

Even if it Tuesday night....because I love participating in What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, hosted each week by Julia at the Stamping Ground.

My desk is kind of boring. Messy, but not really much to show on it.

I've been keeping up with my Art 365 project, an inchie or twinchie a day. I am really loving it. Sometimes I just pick something from my desk, some time I try new techniques, sometimes I just start and see where I go. Very fun.

I finished the painting I was working on. You know, I can't believe I just wrote that sentence. I'm sure it's a first. Tee Hee. I like some things about it; love the color of the flower although I had such trouble with the shape.

It was a Lifebook lesson, with a lovely woman by the name of Alena Hennessey. Intuitive painting indeed.

Stated here:

Flipped it and changed colors here:

And ended up here:

Sorry so quick this week; still working on samples for next month's stencil class. Enjoy!

  4. Ooooh, I love all the colours you used! Sadly, I can't work that small any more, but I love the idea of an inchie a day!

  5. Interesting background painting technique....as much as I sometimes try to be all loose and abstract, it never works for me. I must be very uptight inside, that's all I can say! I work better with lines, patterns and black and white! That's only when I'm drawing, mind you, when it comes to fabric and yarn, well, it's like a rainbow in my house, lol!!

  10. Another fabulous array of inchies and twinchies - I love the layered one in the top left, and fab orange ivy over the dark blue background. And a huge YAY for a finished painting - and it's so beautiful too! All those painty layers give it great depth, and I love the soft ethereal look of that spray of leaves.

  12. Gorgeous work, lovely colours just what you need at this time of the year. I love the shape of the flowers, they have a certain naivety to them. You should stick with the style and make it your own, I love it, Angela x

  13. Thank you for stopping in. I didn't get to see anyone till now. We had to take my daughters dog back to Columbus ( a 3hour drive to have his staples out and 3 hours back ) it kinda killed the day you can say. But I got a pack of new markers.. oh I'm so bad! The inchie wound fun and cute but what to do with them.. I got into that with atc swaps. lol Bert 37

  14. Hi Sara,

Firstly, don't worry about the bottle caps. I still haven't made that pair of earrings......yikes!

I be the inchies and twinchies are fun. There's something about having a small area to work on that really gets the juices flowing. Your painting is great; interesting that she had you flip it (or was that your idea?)

Thank you for visiting me already!
    Happy belated WOYWW

  16. The painting is fantastic, with the gold highlights it reminds me of batik. Love the little twinchies and inches too. If it's any help I started off with dishcloths too, went from there to socks with nothing inbetween! Now I need to go back and fill in the gaps, I'd like to work up to a sweater at some point but that's a big undertaking from one used to almost instant gratification in knitting!!
